Hello!

I am an Assistant Professor of Public Administration at the University of Nevada, Reno. My research focuses on bridging organizational and policy theories through the lenses of local government, technology, and civic engagement and the people who work in those settings. I teach courses in the Master of Public Administration program and undergraduate political science curriculum.

I serve as director of the Nevada Leadership Program (NLP) in the University Center for Economic Development and lead the Local Governance Lab, a research and collaboration hub for local governance in Nevada and beyond.

We construct novel datasets from government records, develop typologies from those datasets, and use various methods (quantitative, computational, and qualitative) to better understand the organizations that produce them.

I live in Reno with my partner, Nate, and our dogs, Rainier, and Walter. I am a proud civic geek who has served on several local government boards and neighborhood groups. Let's have a Zoom chat!
